    In a nutshell, the only difference between Somm Cru and Grand Cru is that Grand Cru has a monthly or quarterly wine or non-alc delivery component. Each month or quarter (depending on what you sign-up for), Somm Grand Cru members receive 3 or more sommelier selected wines that are typically only available at high end restaurants and hotels. For non alc, you get a variety bundle of zero proof beverages.

  • Somm was born on July 28th, 2020. We’re headquartered in Toronto, Ontario Canada. In 2022 we acquired DINR and we’re now merging the platforms.

  • Yes, for now. Use Somm for Memberships, original content, editorials, secret menus, event invitations and experiences.

    Use DINR for restaurant reservations.

  • 100% we do! Our sommeliers are truly incredible. We work with Jordan Mazzanti - the Head Sommelier at Langdon Hall (one of Canada’s most beautiful Relais & Chateau properties) as well as Elyse Lambert - one of the only Master Sommeliers in Canada.

  • Generally no.

    In extenuating circumstances, we will work with you to understand the situation and see if a refund is appropriate.

    Note that refunds are not available for any consumable product, including wine.

Account and Membership Details

  • Simply open your Somm app, login or create an account, and navigate to the upper right avatar. This is your profile and from there you can become a Member.

  • As many times as you want.

  • Open your Somm app and click on the Experiences tab. As long as you’re logged in you’ll see all the details of the benefits.

    If you want to quickly access your Membership card, select the card icon from the top right of the home screen.

  • We are constantly refreshing and adding new benefits and offers. One of our favourite categories are culinary events, so keep an eye on those!

  • You can switch your Membership levels whenever you’d like.

    There are some nuances when switching to/from Grand Cru as we have strict wine and non-alc procurement timelines.

    To access the various Membership types or switch between tiers, visit your Membership Details in the Somm app. You can access this from the top right avatar/Profile button on the Somm app home screen.

  • Cru is an annual membership so you’ll be billed yearly. If you were an early-days Cru Member, you may still be on a legacy monthly Membership. In which case, you’d be billed monthly.

    Grand Cru is a monthly or quarterly Membership.

  • Yes! You’ll receive a receipt for your membership purchase. Check your spam if it didn’t land in your inbox. Email or chat with us if you have further questions.

  • Your membership will never expire and auto renews monthly, quarterly or annually. If you would like to pause or cancel your Membership, you can do this yourself in the Somm app via your Profile.

  • You can cancel at any time.

    Cancelled Cru Memberships:

    • Your Cru Membership will be valid for the duration of your paid period.

    Cancelled Grand Cru Memberships:

    • Depending on where we are at in the delivery and procurement cycle, your cancelled Grand Cru Membership may take up to 1 billing period to take effect.

    To cancel your Membership, login to your Somm app, click the top right avatar/Profile, click Membership details and then click the cancel link.

  • If you wish to delete your account, ensure you have the most updated version of the Somm app.

    Login and then follow these steps:

    • Click the top right profile/avatar

    • Under Account Settings, click “Preferences”

    • Under Privacy, click “Manage privacy settings”

    • At the bottom, click “Delete account”

    • If you truly wish to delete your account, click, “Yes, delete”

  • If you wish to delete your DINR account, please ensure you have the latest version of the DINR app. Then, login. To delete your account, follow these steps:

    • From the bottom navigation, click “Account”

    • Then click “Delete Account”

    • If you truly wish to delete your account, click “Yes, I am sure”

Grand Cru / Wine Club Details

  • For your specific tracking info, email or chat with us.

    Generally speaking, this is the delivery schedule:

    Deliveries West of Ontario (BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba)

    • If your billing date is between the 1st and 15th of a month, you should receive your bundle by the end of that month, typically in the last week.

    • If your billing date is between the 16th - 31st of a month, you should receive your bundle by 15th of the following month.

    Deliveries in Ontario and East of Ontario

    • All bundles should be received by the 15th of the following month.

  • 100%. Just send us an email to community@getdinr.com or chat with us and we’ll work with your schedule.

  • You bet! Note that the change may take up to 1 delivery cycle to take effect given our procurement cycles.

    To switch your bundle style, go to:

    • Top Right avatar/profile of the Somm app, once you’re logged in

    • Click Membership Details

    • You’ll see all the options from there

    If you don’t see these options, you need to update your app. Then, try again.

  • This can be handled in the Profile section of the Somm app. Ensure you’re logged in in order to access this feature and have the most updated version of the app.

    You’ll be able to see/edit your delivery address from that Profile screen. Be sure you update your delivery address and not necessarily your account address (if they are different).

Amex Offer FAQs

  • Please access your details via the Somm app, by clicking the top right avatar.

  • Eligible Cards: All Canadian American Express® Personal and Small Business Cards issued by Amex Bank of Canada.

    Not Eligible: American Express® Prepaid, Reloadable, Corporate and Gift Cards are not eligible to participate.

    If you have questions about Amex card eligibility, contact Amex directly.

  • Yes, you can participate using multiple cards, as long as the Cards are eligible for the Offer as long as those cards are registered via the Amex offers portal.

  • You may cancel or downgrade at any time prior to the end of your membership term. To cancel, go to the Profile section in the app, under Manage Your Membership, and follow the instructions to cancel your Membership.
